The Interfaith Alliance
The Interfaith Alliance is an organization that was started to promote the tolerance of all religions and their practice in the United States. It was in 1994 that this non-partisan alliance was formed. The main initiatives for the Interfaith Alliance include:
- Promote community activism
- Challenge political extremism
- Encourage equal and strong participation for all citizens
- Heal the public image of religion
The Interfaith Alliance is responsible for preserving the integrity of both religion and the government by acting as a buffer. This initiative alone is a challenging, but fruitful to say the very least. It is largely due to the actions of this organization that America is a country where religion can be practiced freely without fear of government intervention or discrimination.
The Interfaith Alliance also works closely with the Interfaith Alliance Foundation. The Interfaith Alliance Foundation shares the same goals as the Interfaith Alliance, only they rely heavily on research and education to achieve the same results.
Both the Interfaith Alliance and the Interfaith Alliance Foundation have had an enormous impact on the United States and the freedoms that Americans are accustomed to. Despite this, most Americans do not participate in interfaith activities outside of their own religion. In fact, many do not even know about the existence of organizations such as the Interfaith Alliance. It is for this reason that we need to support and promote the Interfaith Alliance that has given so much to us.
